Douglas E. Romer, M.D.

Dr. Douglas E. Romer, Board Certified in Family Practice, graduated from the University of Dayton and then the St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Romer completed his residency at Miami Valley Hospital where he was recognized as Intern of the Year. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Practitioners, the Ohio State Medical Association and the Montgomery County Medical Society.

Dr. Romer has received recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance in both their Heart/Stroke Recognition Program and in the Diabetic Physician Recognition Program. The programs were developed in conjunction with the American Diabetes Association and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association to recognize physicians who demonstrate that they provide high quality care for patients with diabetes and patients with cardiac conditions or who have had a stroke.

Dr. Romer is passionate about physicians promoting and leading the change in health care and is a strong believer in preventative medicine, realizing there is an art and spiritual side to medicine that helps heal the body and soul.

Dr. Romer is an avid mountain climber having summitted four major mountains, including Mt. Rainer in Washington and Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Snow and water skiing are his more accomplished sports but he also enjoys playing golf. Dr. Romer and his wife, a local OB-GYN, have four children and are members of St. Charles Parrish.
