PriMED Clinical Research Study on Flu Prevention

Study Name: Flu Prevention Study

Purpose: The flu can be serious, especially for people who are older, have certain health conditions, or have a weakened immune system. Flu vaccines help, but they may not protect everyone. Researchers are studying a medicine called MK-1406 (CD388) to see if it can help prevent the flu. It is a long-acting anti-viral, that may help stop the flu virus from replicating. The study is for teens and adults who may have a higher chance of becoming very sick from the flu. It may be given with or without the flu vaccine.

 

What to Expect in Clinical Trial: 

If you choose to join:
•       You will receive either MK-1406 or a placebo. A placebo does not contain study medicine.
•       You will receive three shots under the skin during one study visit.
•       Neither you nor the study team will know which treatment you receive until the study is complete.
•       The study team will explain what to expect, answer your questions, and monitor your health and safety.

Taking part is your choice. Researchers hope this study will help them learn whether MK-1406 is safe and can help protect people from the flu.

Participating in a clinical trial is a voluntary way to help researchers learn more about new medications, treatments, or ways to prevent disease.
Some studies offer compensation for time and travel.
