Pediatric Care FAQs

How often should my child see a pediatrician?

Regular check-ups are essential for monitoring your child’s growth and development. We recommend well-child visits once a year for children over the age of three and more frequent visits for infants and toddlers to track important developmental milestones.

Can my teenager or young adult still benefit from seeing a pediatrician?

Absolutely! Pediatricians are trained to care for children from infancy through young adulthood, and we understand the specific health needs of teenagers and young adults. This can include guidance on physical, emotional, and mental health concerns that are often unique to this phase of life, such as growth changes, stress management, or transitioning to adult healthcare.

How can I tell if my child’s symptoms require immediate medical attention?

If your child experiences the following symptoms, please contact us or seek emergency care immediately.

  • A high fever (102°F for children 3 or older)
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Unusual rashes
  • Persistent vomiting
  • Severe pain

We are here to help you assess any concerns you have about your child’s health.

Are same-day appointments available for sick visits?

We strive to accommodate timely appointments for children who are ill or injured. We also offer convenient telehealth services for our patients who may have difficulty making it to the office.

Please call us as early as possible so we can ensure your child receives timely care.

Vaccine Statement

At PriMED Physicians, we are committed to protecting the health of your child and our community by following the immunization schedule recommended by leading health experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians. We want all parents to be well-informed about the safety and importance of vaccines, and to understand the serious risks associated with delaying or refusing immunization. We strongly encourage open, honest discussions with your child’s pediatrician about your concerns. Our goal is to partner with you to ensure the best and safest care for your child.
